New Nintendo 3DS XL Animal Crossing for Parts/Repair

Refer to pics for condition. Both screens have screen protectors. The unit only seems to power on with the charger connected, but shuts down after a few seconds with a popping sound and nothing comes up on the screen. Also, the charging light comes on but turns off after a few seconds as well.

I believe it’s a Japanese console, no further testing has been done. This item is AS IS, for parts or repair. Console only, no stylus or charger included.
